| Notes: Considered by many to be the sexiest of control surfaces, the Digico D5 control surface is both the control surface and housing for the mix engine which is normally 96 inputs, but can grow to 160 inputs by turning off unneeded features. I/O, in the form of the full sized Digi-Rack or the smaller Mini-Rack, is connected to the engine via madi format coax wires and/or Optocore fiber optic cable. Without the fiber option and with a Mini-Rack for a local rack, the cost of a new “CS” system is well under $100,000. With the fiber optics and Digi-Rack as a local rack, the Digico D5 “56-EX” system is incredibly versatile particularly in multiple, linked console situations. Options include Tube mic pre modules for the I/O racks and elegant connection to computer recorders with madi interface cards. |
